'Mothering Sunday' 💐 10th March

“But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because her's is where your's begin.” ― Mitch Albom, For One More Day

Our theme for this week's Cognitive Stimulation Therapy session is 'Mothers Day', which is on Sunday 10th March. Ask members who have mothers or mothers-in-law still living and which female members are/or were mothers and/or grandmothers.

Asked members to tell a story about their mother or grandmother, or about being a mum or grandma.

Ask members if they were to be given a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates (or both, if you're lucky!), what would their favourite flowers and chocolates would be?

(As I've mentioned previously, it's important to know a little about your members' lives in order to avoid provoking distressing memories and to have co-facilitators in case someone does become upset and is in need of one-to-one support. Also, people need to feel able not to participate in any given discussion. Bear in mind recent bereavements!)
