Less than 2% of the world's population has red hair. The highest concentration of redheads is in Scotland (13%), followed by Ireland (10%). The odds of having red hair and blue eyes are 0.17% which makes it extremely rare. Both traits are recessive which makes it difficult to find in people.


Talk about hair and eye colour. Go around the room and see which colours are most common.

Discuss the pros and cons of being a redhead and/or having blue eyes - 'English Rose' complexion, an uncommonly beautiful look, fair skin which is easy to burn, freckles, nicknames etc.
