World Music 🌎

For this activity, get hold of a decent map of the world, or a globe.

It's a straightforward music recognition quiz. (Download the Spotify playlist or link to YouTube video clips below.)

Play the first few bars of the songs and, before the place is named in the song, ask members to take a guess at where it is. Then see if they can find it on the map. (Maybe pin it.)

If members are enjoying a particular song, play it all the way through.

If members have been to any of the places mentioned, encourage reminiscence and story telling.

You can use Google Earth to zoom in to look at tourist attractions etc.

PLEASE let me know of any obvious songs I've missed ...

AND thanks for your suggestions so far ...

(You can print photos off or project them as a slide show)

NB There are 8 frames below of 8 songs (64), so it's up to you to decide how to play it.

You could split the session, or just choose a few songs off each frame (ask members to choose). Or, you could have members choose the top two or three songs off each frame and make a playlist out of them.
