Every summer, Wimbledon captures the hearts of millions around the world. As the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament, it combines world-class sport with great British tradition. From immaculate grass courts and all-white clothing to strawberries and cream, Centre Court and Royal visitors, Wimbledon is much more than just a tennis tournament - it is a national institution.


Today's CST activity celebrates Wimbledon 2026 with reminiscence, quizzes, fascinating facts, discussion, music and plenty of opportunities to share memories of Britain's greatest sporting event.

No CST activity would be complete without a few songs! Today's selection has been chosen to celebrate Wimbledon, summertime and sunshine, helping to bring back memories while encouraging everyone to sing along.

The Wombles famously lived on Wimbledon Common, just a short distance from the All England Club. We'll find out a little about these much-loved TV characters and the values they promoted while enjoying one of Britain's most recognisable children's songs.

Nothing says Wimbledon quite like strawberries and cream. This classic Beatles song gives us the perfect excuse to celebrate one of the Championships' best-loved traditions while discovering the real story behind Strawberry Fields.

imbledon is synonymous with warm summer afternoons, grass courts and hopefully plenty of sunshine. Cream's unforgettable guitar riff makes this a perfect summer soundtrack while we hope for glorious weather throughout this year's Championships.
