From the bright lights of New York City to the deserts of Monument Valley, from Hollywood to Hawaii, America is filled with famous sights recognised all around the world.

Today’s activity takes us on a virtual road trip across the USA, visiting iconic landmarks, legendary locations from films and television, and places linked to famous singers, actors, historical figures and fictional characters. Along the way we can share memories of holidays, favourite films, music, food, famous journeys and dream destinations.

Travel-themed CST activities are a great way to encourage conversation, reminiscence, orientation, imagination and social connection - all while having fun together. So pack your suitcase, grab your passport, and let’s explore the landmarks and stories of the United States together! 🇺🇸🗽✈️

🇺🇸 US LANDMARKS QUIZ – HOW TO PLAY

Take a journey across the United States as we explore some of America’s most famous landmarks, locations and attractions.

For each picture, see if you can:

  • Identify the landmark or place

  • Name the famous American linked to it

  • Work out the connection between the person and the location

  • Share any memories, films, songs, holidays or TV shows linked to the place

Some connections will be straightforward… others may need a little lateral thinking! There may be links to:

  • Films and television

  • Singers and musicians

  • Historical figures

  • Cartoon or fictional characters

  • Sports stars and celebrities

  • Famous American events and traditions

There are no prizes for getting everything right - the fun is in the discussion, memories and shared stories along the way.

So grab a coffee, sit back, and enjoy this all-American CST road trip across the USA! 🇺🇸🗽🛣️
