Here is a link to my new CST video-based activity Simon’s CST Activities – TV Families Quiz Video

This engaging Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) session explores thirty memorable TV families from classic sitcoms, soaps and drama series, supported by instantly recognisable music clips and visual prompts. Designed for people living with mild to moderate dementia, the activity encourages reminiscence, conversation, orientation and social interaction through familiar television themes and family life memories.

The session includes opportunities to:

  • Name famous TV families and programmes

  • Recall favourite characters and storylines

  • Sing along or respond to linked music clips

  • Share memories of watching television with family and friends

  • Encourage discussion, laughter and confidence building within groups or one-to-one sessions

Using familiar television families helps tap into long-term memories and shared cultural experiences, making the activity both accessible and enjoyable for older audiences. Music clips are used throughout to maintain engagement, stimulate recognition and create a relaxed, interactive atmosphere.

Ideal for dementia groups, day centres, carers, home support sessions and community activities.
