INTRODUCTION
This CST activities page is about cars and driving. It might be a 'sore' topic for some members who have had their licences revoked, so take care.
Ask members what their first cars were?
Did they pass their driving test first time?
Discuss the joys of driving - freedom, speed, going somewhere nice, getting home.
& the hazards of driving - dangerous drivers, traffic jams, petrol shortages
What is the best car or bus journey members ever took? What was the destination?
Has anyone ever driven, or been a passenger, in a fancy car, such as a limousine or Rolls Royce? What was the occasion?

Trailer for sale or rent Rooms to let, 50 cents No phone, no pool, no pets I ain't got no cigarettes Ah, but two hours of pushing broom Buys a eight by 12 four-bit room I'm a man of means, by no means King of the road Third boxcar, midnight train Destination: Bangor, Maine Old worn out suit and shoes I don't pay no union dues I smoke, old stogies I have found Short, but not too big around I'm a man of means, by no means King of the road I know every engineer on every train All of the children and all of their names Every handout in every town Every lock that ain't locked when no one's around I sing, trailers for sale or rent Rooms to let, 50 cents No phone, no pool, no pets I ain't got no cigarettes Ah, but two hours of pushing broom Buys an eight by 12 four-bit room I'm a man of means, by no means King of the road Trailer for sale or rent Rooms to let, 50 cents No phone, no pool, no pets I ain't got no cigarettes Ah, but, two hours of pushing broom Buys an eight by 12 four-bit room

Hit the road Jack and don't you come back No more, no more, no more, no more Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more What you say? Hit the road Jack and don't you come back No more, no more, no more, no more Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more
Old woman, old woman, don't treat me so mean You're the meanest old woman that I've ever seen I guess if you said so I'll have to pack my things and go (that's right)

PRACTICAL ACTIVITY

Get a road map of your area. Find where you are and red dot it. Decide where you would like to go for a day out, as a group, then plan your journey on the map.
Find your destination on the map, then find pictures of it on the internet and have a virtual visit.

OR
You could bring in some classic car magazines and ask members to choose their favourite cars, then make a collage together.
