Today we're celebrating the wonderful world of horses – faithful companions, hardworking helpers, sporting champions and stars of films, television and music.

We'll begin with a Let's TalkĀ discussion, sharing memories of horses, riding, working horses and visits to stables or the countryside. We'll then exercise our brains with horse idioms and sayings, before seeing how many of us can remember the nursery rhyme Ride A Cock Horse.

Throughout today's session we'll enjoy some wonderful music, including Black Beauty, White Horses, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, The Lightning Tree, The Deadwood Stage, Three Wheels on My Wagon, A Horse With No NameĀ and Rhinestone Cowboy, finishing with a fun singalong of I Know an Old Lady.

There will be plenty of opportunities to test our memories with facts about horses, a look back at childhood horse toys and rides, a challenge to name all the different things called "horse", and a fascinating factoid about the many jobs working horses have doneĀ throughout history.

We'll also enjoy quizzes on television programmes and films featuring horses, identify famous horsey people, name horse equipment and riding items, see how many horse sports and eventsĀ we can remember, and discover some of the most famous horses of all time.

So saddle up, hold your horses, and get ready for a fun-filled journey celebrating one of the world's most remarkable animals. Let's get started!
