Celebrating the Arrival of Summer – CST Activity Pack


Welcome the arrival of summer with this engaging and enjoyable Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) activity session, designed to encourage conversation, reminiscence, creativity and social interaction.


This summer-themed pack includes:


☀️ Facts & Discussion About Summer – Introductory facts about the season and open ended questions to warm people up and get discussions going.


☀️ Summer Sayings and Expressions – Explore familiar summer-related sayings and discuss what they mean, where they came from and whether participants still use them today.


☀️ Memory Challenges – Encourage cognitive stimulation by participants naming things that remind them of summer, recalling favourite summer smells, sights, sounds and experiences.


☀️ The Summer of 1976 Reminiscence – Ask participants to share memories of Britain's most famous heatwave, discussing how people kept cool, summer fashions, holidays, music and memorable events from that remarkable year.


☀️ Song Break – 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' - Elton John & Kiki Dee, a Summer '76 classic.


☀️ Summer Memory Quiz – Test participant's knowledge and spark discussion with a wide range of fun summer-themed questions.
