Welcome to our Bastille Day Celebration! 🇫🇷
Today we're taking a relaxing trip across the English Channel to celebrate the people, places, history, food, music and culture of France. Whether you've holidayed on the Côte d'Azur, enjoyed a ferry trip to Normandy, sampled French cuisine or simply love a good French song or film, there will be something here to bring back happy memories.
We'll begin with a friendly Let's Talk About France discussion, sharing favourite holidays, places visited and memories of French life. We'll have some fun with "Pardon My French", looking at well-known French words and expressions that have become part of everyday English, before singing along to a few familiar French children's songs that many of us remember from school days.
We'll then test our memories with a French History Quiz, discovering some of the fascinating people and events that shaped the nation, followed by a French Food and Drink Memory Challenge, where we'll see how many classic French dishes, cheeses, desserts and drinks we can recognise.
Did you know? We'll also uncover a surprising Champagne Factoid about the world's most famous sparkling wine and the region that gave it its name.
Next comes our French Places Quiz, visiting famous landmarks from Paris to the Alps, before our Famous French People Identification Challenge, where we'll see how many well-known faces we can name from the worlds of history, science, fashion, sport, music and entertainment.
Lights, camera, action! We'll finish our quizzes with a French-Themed Television and Movie Quiz, celebrating classic films and TV programmes set in France or inspired by French stories.
Finally, we'll round off our celebration with a joyful French and French-Inspired Singalong, featuring some of the country's best-loved songs alongside famous tunes inspired by France—perfect for singing together and ending our Bastille Day on a high note.
Bonne Fête Nationale! Vive la France! 🇫🇷
