Here is another Dementia Cafe quiz, this time about "Animals & Their Homes". All members have to do is to think of the names for the homes of these different animals. The answers are presented in the Word Search below, which provides another format for the quiz. Some songs are provided to make the activity more multi-sensory.

  • Lion → DEN, grasslands (savannah)

  • Bear → WOOD, forests, mountains (hibernate in caves)

  • Fox → LAIR, forests, grasslands

  • Rabbit/Hare → BURROW (warren)

  • Mouse/Rat → HOLE, burrow, human houses, fields

  • Bat → CAVE, hollow trees, attics

  • Kangaroo → POUCH, grasslands, bushlands, forests

  • Badger → SETT, underground tunnels and chamber networks

  • Beaver → LODGE, homes within dams they make on rivers

  • Otter → HOLT, dens made in waterside vegetation

  • Squirrel → DREY, nests built in tree cavities and branches

  • Hedgehog → NEST, made out of leaves in woodland, hedges and gardens

  • Elephant → JUNGLE, grasslands (no fixed home)

  • Camel → DESERT, in social groups called herds

  • Hippopotamus → BLOAT, groups in river habitats

  • Whales → POD, groups in oceans

  • Pigeon → COOP, or nests in buildings if wild

  • Chicken → SHED, or woodland if in the wild

  • Dove → COTE, or parkland if in the wild

  • Clownfish → CORAL REEF (in sea anemones)
