'National Sideburns Day' 💈 11th August

Here is a short picture quiz for a CST activity to celebrate 'National Sideburns Day', which is on 11th August.

This theme seems especially relevant, as Barber Shops have only recently re-opened after lockdown and members will have been left without a haircut or beard trim for several months.

It's a straightforward facial recognition picture quiz, with some clues thrown in. Embellish it as you see fit, with music and film clips and discussion about each individual.

Have conversations focused on preferred hairstyles and whether sideburns are liked or disliked.

Have the gents always shaved, or has anyone ever sported sideburns, a moustache or a beard?

What do the ladies think of facial hair?

How about members' favourite aftershaves and perfumes? Have a few old fashioned ones on hand to spray to add another dimension to the CST activity.

As you work through the pictures, comment on hairstyles, especially the sideburns. And whether or not the person is liked or admired by the group.

Give clues such as first names as necessary. Help members to achieve by prompting recall.

NB. If you click on the first image, a slide show will open.
